we only collect what we genuinely use to run thirteen finds:

• your email address — when you join the waitlist or create an account.
• your account details — if you register: a display name, and optionally your gender, postcode and how you heard about us. you give us these to help us tailor our lists and content to be more relevant to you.
• content you submit — the votes, suggestions and comments you add to lists.
• basic technical data — information your browser sends automatically (such as IP address and device/browser type) that we need to run the site securely.

• to run the voting platform, show you the lists and attribute your contributions — on the basis of performing our service to you and our legitimate interests.
• to tailor the lists and content we show you using the profile details you provide (gender, postcode) — on the basis of your consent, which you give by choosing to provide those details.
• to send you the occasional email about thirteen finds — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• to keep the site secure and prevent abuse — on the basis of our legitimate interests.

we do not sell your data, and we never will. we use a small number of trusted service providers to host the site and send emails on our behalf; they only process your data on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes. we may disclose data if we are legally required to do so.
